Relay for Life

On May 15^th and 16^th Grimbleby Coleman participated in the Modesto Relay for Life with one booth, two teams and 33 team members.  Through different fundraisers throughout the year, including candy sales, yard sale and face painting, the teams raised $2,510. 

We are planning on participating in Relay for Life again next year.

Clive Grimbleby Receives Leadership Award

This year at the Community Hospice Foundation Gala on May 22^nd, Clive Grimbleby was awarded the Gallo Leadership award.  Below is an excerpt from Community Hospice’s quarterly publication about the event:

 “We also honor our leaders – those outstanding volunteers who influence others to help us accomplish our mission – the Aileen and Julio Gallo Leadership Award was named in honor of these two individuals, who so generously gave to Community Hospice in its early history, to keep the fledging organization afloat.  Their leadership led to other gifts and the agency grew.  This year, we honored Clive Grimbleby, CPA, as a longtime leader on the Community Hospice board of directors.  In addition to his successful CPA business, he has worked tirelessly as a volunteer leader to move Community Hospice forward, helping to open the Hospice House and the Haig and Isabel Berberian Patient Services Center.  His leadership helped us engage others in continuing our success.”  Carole Richard, JD, CFRE

Stanislaus Business Forum Breakfast on May 27th.

On Thursday May 27^th 2010 the Stanislaus Business Forum will host local business and marketing experts to discuss the topic “Marketing & Branding: What Is It, Who Needs It?”  Clive Grimbleby will facilitate the discussion.

The topics presented at the forum deal with real world issues and the challenges most owner-operated businesses face on a daily basis. This breakfast event will be held at the Martin G. Peterson Event Center from 7:15 to 11:30am.

Relay for Life

The Modesto Relay for Life will take place on May 15^th at Johansen High School.  For the seventh year in a row, Grimbleby Coleman will have a booth at the event.  This year we will have two teams: Counting on a Cure and Counting on a Cure II.  As most of us have been impacted in some way by cancer, we are honored to support this noble cause. 

To raise money for the American Cancer Society Grimbleby Coleman will have a Yard Sale/Bake Sale on May 1^st at 4100 Hidden Meadow Court in Modesto (off Snyder Ave. between Carver and Tully Roads).  Please join us as we turn unwanted items into funds for cancer research.

Health Insurance Reform Benefits for Small Business

As complicated as the new health insurance reform bill is, every once in a while there is a brief bit of clarity.  Beginning in 2010, small businesses (and non-profits) are allowed an income tax credit for up to 35% of their insurance premium costs.  You may be eligible for thousands of dollars in tax credits if you pay insurance premiums for your employees.  The summary provides guidance on who qualifies.  We will be providing you more details throughout the year.
