Urgent Notification – Action Required for ACA Refund

By Nate Miller, CPA, MS

July 13, 2020

Recently the U.S. Supreme Court agreed to hear a case addressing the constitutionality of some items in the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Dependent upon the Court’s decision regarding the ACA, taxpayers may be entitled to refunds for certain taxes that have been paid from 2016 to 2019, including the extra 0.9% Medicare tax and the 3.8% net investment income tax that have been paid on prior year returns.

At this time, we encourage you to complete, sign, and mail this document, to the IRS if you believe you may be entitled to refunds for 2016 and later.  This letter only serves as a protective claim should the Court rule favorably for the taxpayer.
